County Clipboard: Hofstra's Poma makes Golden Spikes watch list
Danny Poma's named has been added to the Golden Spikes Award Midseason Watch List by USA Baseball. The award is given to the top amateur baseball player in the country. Previous winners have included the Giants' Buster Posey in 2008, Tim Lincecum in 2006 and Will Clark in 1985.

Two Bellevue wrestlers sign letters of intent
We received this press release from Bellevue High School: Peter Ovens and Jimmy Trull of Bellevue High have both signed letters of intent to wrestle next year in college. Peter will wrestle at 149lbs for the Bulldogs of Concordia Nebraska. The Bulldogs are members of the NAIA. Last year in their third year of Varsity wrestling the Bulldogs had 3 All-Americans. North Shore Wrestler Earns Second All County
On April 3, Nassau County’s All County wrestlers gathered for their end-of-the-year dinner at the Crest Hollow Country Club. Unlike other sports, no coaches voted for these athletes to receive their awards. These were earned competing head to head at the county wrestling tournament held at Hofstra in February. Only the top six wrestlers in each weight class earn All Nassau County status.
