This day in history: May 10, 1955
Canada's only heavy-weight boxing champion, Tommy Burns, died in obscurity during a trip to Vancouver at 74. A member of the Canadian Sports Hall of Fame, Burns earned $200,000 during his eight-year boxing career, a fortune in those days, and remains one of the most successful Canadian heavy-weights of all time.
